EVOLTREE webinar series #2 - Real-time Genomics for One Health
Webinar #2 - 15 November 2023 (16:30-18.00 CET)
A new webinar series on "New technologies for evolution & genetics" will take place in November 2023. The dates are: 8, 15, 22, and 29 November 2023 all on Wednesday 16:30-18:00 CET.
The second webinar of the series will be presented by Dr. Lara Urban with the title “Real-time Genomics for One Health”.
Dr. Urban leads a research group at Helmholtz Institute that focuses on the application of Molecular Biology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the context of One Health. The team studies specifically how genomics, portable technology, statistics, and machine learning can benefit environmental health and nature conservation. Research topics include, but are not limited to, leveraging genomics and AI to study the diversity and distribution of environmental microbiomes such as bioaerosols and their impact on human health, also in the context of climate change; pioneering portable genomic and data analysis approaches for in situ real-time detection and classification of pathogens; monitoring genomic diversity in the context of animal health and biodiversity conservation as well as global health.
