The aim of the event was to take stock of the scientific findings presented during the final GenTree conference 'Genetics to the rescue - managing forests sustainably in a changing environment', identify critical issues not yet addressed by research and formulate research priorities for future collaborative work in the area of forest genetic resources conservation and sustainable use. These ideas will be conveyed to funding bodies and implementing agencies.
