The fifth meeting of the Quercus suber Network were held on 3-5 April 1998 in Le Lavandou, France. The meeting also concerned other related evergreen oaks. Participants shared experiences on the progress made in the countries with field trials. They agreed on summarizing the learning outcomes in a technical handbook and distributed the related tasks. Each country introduced the status of genetic resources of evergreen oaks and the activities towards their conservation and use.
