During the EUFORGEN/FORGER workshop on conservation and monitoring of forest genetic resources, held in Järvenpää, Finland 18-20 September 2012, the participants reviewed approaches and options presented by working groups on the pan-European genetic conservation strategy for forest trees and on the related genetic monitoring scheme.

The group reviewed the draft reports produced by the two working groups and suggested changes. Synergies and linkages across the working groups and other relevant projects were discussed. Lastly, participants formulated a list of recommendations addressed to the working groups and to the EUFORGEN Steering Committee.
