Online event: Tree genetic diversity – a set of indicators of the conservation effort
22 October 2020, 15.00-16.00 CET
EUFORGEN has published a report on updated indicators to assess the dynamic conservation and use of the genetic diversity of forest trees. Genetic diversity ensures that forest trees can survive and evolve under changing environmental conditions.
Framed within the pan-European strategy for the protection and sustainable management of forests, these indicators are a useful tool for the Green Deal Roadmap, in particular climate and biodiversity actions.
The event, organized in the context of the EU Green Week 2020, offered an opportunity to interact with the authors and learn how countries can apply them in their monitoring schemes.
